FAITHFUL

I swore to change
I failed to do
The simple things
I promised You

Feeling pangs of guilt
Forgive me
Deliver me
Jesus did

Remind my heart
You never change
You know my ways
You call my name

God is good
He gives me strength
Power to live
With weakness and pain

Failure tracks
Winning flees
Jesus is here
He brings life to me

Ordinary soul
Nameless days
Extraordinary Savior
Jesus lives in me

ONLY YOU

Only you
Can ever change your life
Only you
Can hear the Lord’s advice
Only you
Can be renewed
No one can do it for you
You are the one to choose

Only you
Can live a holy life
Only you
Can spend time with Christ
Only you
Can be the Father’s son
You walk in your shoes
Living the life you choose

Only you
Can bend your knee
Only you
Can be set free
Only you
Can heed God’s Word
It changes you
You become like Christ

Only you
Receive God’s love
Only you
Can see His home
Only you
Can suffer for Him
The victory is won
You behave like the SON

THEY SAY

They say
Is the word today
They say I can’t lose
That things will be the same

Truth says truth will win
Things will end
Life has rules
We must choose

They say
I can do what I want
Be what I decide
No limit on my desires

Truth says wrong
Destroy your soul
Reap death’s hold
Hope will leave

They say
Have it all
Do what you must
People don’t count

Truth says
God loves people most of all
He loves you
Come back home

Don’t listen to gossip
Don’t listen to lies
Within your soul
Truth continues to cry

Stand up and take control
Give Jesus your soul
Let Christ have your heart
Jesus will not depart

Life will change its shape
Destruction will stay away
Hope will fill your heart
Jesus will live in you

REVELATION

We knew Him
When He stood there
He showed Himself
To each one of us

We struggled in our heartache
Tomorrow’s another day
Wanting to be emperors
We failed to see our way

A world without limits
We saw ourselves as king
Making our decisions
As though they rang with truth

Little lives of failure
Desperation always rules
I want, I want is all we say
Death maintains its hold

No excuse not to know Him
No excuse can solve my pain
No excuse before the master
He doesn’t even know my name

It’s painful to know this
It’s painful to share this truth
Each of us called to choose
Without Jesus we are dead and lose

POVERTY

POVERTY
The poor plead for mercy; the rich answer with insults.
Proverbs 18:23
I am not rich in worldly goods. I am rich in Christ. It is important for me to remember that the majority of people that I deal with daily do not know Jesus. People need Jesus. I am called by the Word of God to participate with the Lord in promoting the Gospel message. This requires me to listen to what the world is saying and doing and respond in such a way that the Gospel message will get through to them. The early church was not wealthy. Paul said that they were known for their love of the brethren.

POVERTY
All around are shakes and fries
Instant everything
In a world that is passing away
Life is not very long

People crying for help
Drugs and evil rule
I must hear their plea
Life is more than this

Jesus brings life and light
To hardened, hurting souls
I am called to share
God’s love with those in the cold

The world is a lonely place
Love does not abound
In Christ we share the love He gives
With every one we meet

I am not to judge
I often can’t debate
The world cannot mimic
The love of Christ in the face of hate

Go and tell
Care for the lost
Jesus is seeking through me
And He has paid the cost

COMFORT AS I WALK

Comfort as I walk through the valley
Every day like the past
The lessons learned increasing
My ability to accomplish God’s plan

Peace as I walk through the valley
Thinking about the mountain top
Few things grow where I long to go
Growth is valley stuff

The Lord is my shepherd
He guides my steps
As I walk along His path
His Word heals my heart

Joy in knowing
He is in my heart
Giving me what I need
Not just the things that please

Then the day
Someone comes my way
Lessons I’ve learned I recount
A comfort to them on Christ’s way

As I walk valley paths
Sharing my heart
Encouraging another along
Jesus makes me strong

HOW MUCH?

He knows me
To the depths of my soul
Every act of evil
Grates against His hold

Yet He never leaves me
His love is deep and wide
The depths of my depravity
Defines the miracle of love

How much does He love me?
Enough to live in me
Enough to carry burdens
That I don’t even see

How much does He love me?
More than a heart can say
His love is always searching
To help me find my way

Jesus loves this sinner
He knows what I have done
Reaching through my blackened heart
He gives me all of His love

Never more to wander
No more despair
God loves me so much
He will not leave me here

WHAT GOD HAS DONE

He saw me as He hung there
Two thousand years ago
Knowing what my needs were
He died so I could know

Knowing I could serve Him
Knowing I could count
His Word defines my journey
His love lines my course

Always looking for me
Never letting go
Brought me into His family
I know that I know

Said don’t measure value
I reside in you
The Holy Spirit quickens
His life gives me hope

Every time I struggle
He reminds me of His love
His presence gives me courage
The Lord is always good

GOD IS

God is more than me
I cannot understand
How He was and did
My mind just cannot see

Holy King, creator
I will bow and praise
Wonderfully created me
One day I’ll see Him

How do things go on?
Only Jesus knows
He is my sustainer
Including all we know

Look around and see
His hand is everywhere
Look at the pattern
God is here and now

Checking out my heart strings
I sense His presence near
Jesus has a plan for me
I belong to Him

KNOCKING ON HEAVEN’S DOOR

Knocking on heaven’s door
I bend my knee to the Lord
He will carry me
Even when my chances look poor

Knocking on heaven’s door
This world is not my home
Yet the heartache never lessens
Fear keeps score

Knocking on heaven’s door
I’m just weak old me
What difference can I make?
Jesus will care for the poor

Knocking on heaven’s door
I’m so confused
Others I think highly of
So often times abused

Knocking on heaven’s door
Lord are you awake?
My prayers so unanswered
My life destroyed by evil’s wake

Knocking on heaven’s door
I choose to be God’s child
His love is in me
No matter what may transpire

Knocking on heaven’s door
This world is not my home
Home is where the heart is
One day soon I’ll be home
