(Luke 19:41-42. As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it and said, “If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes.)
Jesus wept over the city
As He looked from the mount
So many times He had walked here
This time was near the end
This is a sobering picture
It should cause us to pause
His weeping preceded His sacrifice
For us this is good advice
Be careful how you judge
Be careful how you scold
Jesus knew about us
And died for us all
The next person you dislike
Think it all the way through
Get before the Father
Jesus died for you
Treat people with kindness
They are of great worth to God
Walk their road in their sandals
Christ walked to the cross for you
